| I have been taking movies for almost forty year when as a new mom in 1970 we purchased our first camera. I remember renting a VCR camera for our daughter's wedding day about two decades later. From then on there has always been some sort of recording device in the house, resulting in a library of various video tapes in almost all forms of media, from the huge VCR tapes on down to the minis. The old 8mm have long since been converted to a newer format. Fifteen years as a band mom led to about a hundred or so concerts and parades on film. I even had the opportunity to accompany an All-star band to Europe where I filmed the entire trip. This was before DVD's and digital, so I had one entire bag filled with cameras and film. Needless to say the contents were inspected several times at the airport check point. Add to this mix over a half century of still photos. My dad was an amateur photographer in the 1950's and 60's. I inherited albums of albums from both sides of the family and even tho I don't know all those people I still hang on to the memories. I purchased a VHS to DVD recorder within a year of them coming on the market. Two years ago I opened a business, one small part of it was transferring media. But it was a tedious project, with equipment that did not always co-operate. And I have found out that what plays on one machine does not always play on another. Besides, the price and availability of doing it yourself is now within the reach of most families. Another factor was I could not bring myself to charge people the actual price of what it cost me hour wise when adding in the price of rent and equipment. Making videos for me is a labor of love. So I closed up shop in town and moved my "business" back to my home in the country where I can work and watch the deer and kitty cats play. I take care when editing videos to find shots that fit the music. When using still photos they are timed to the beat unlike other productions which allows a preset time to each shot. Recently I attended the funeral of a good friend and there was a tribute video celebrating her life. The clips were scans of pages from a photo album showing up to four or five pictures on one page. And they went by so fast one could not reflect on much. I crop photos before adding them to any project. I find great joy in creating a product I am proud of. I now share my videos online and rely on networking for promotion. What I post is a shortened version of the real thing. You may write me requesting a full version hard copy of the clips you like. I also custom make videos from your pictures and music. Once again if I had to charge what it actually cost for me to do this, you could not afford me. Therefore I ask a small amount to cover expenses for equipment and postage. I accept whatever you wish to pay, if nothing I accept that too, but you may be pushed to the back of the line. Suggested prices are $20 for custom made video, using one song. Each additional song $5. Copies are $5 each DVD for the first song, and each additional song on that DVD is $1. You may mix and match clips as you wish. I will be adding many more titles as time goes by. So keep watching this site, and even if you don't buy, I hope you at least enjoy. |
